ART BASEL (SWITZERLAND)

This major event of contemporary art hosts about 2500 artists represented by 284 galleries from the whole world. The sculpture-installation Stacked by Aï Weiwei shows the stacking (and the aggregating) of 760 chinese bicycles. Neither Arman and his Accumulations, nor the Nouveaux Réalistes would deny this sublime work calls to mind the word by the art critic Pierre Restany about his "new perceptive approaches of the reality" ("nouvelles approches perceptives du réel"). As a wink to Ai Weiwei’s bicycles, one of my creations "Au pied sûr / With an assured foot" where the repetition of a bicycle suggests Hyperrealism.
